So, you've just beaten the Elite Four and now has access to the Battle Frontier! Congratulations! Too bad it gets harder from here. You now have access to different Frontier Brains. Some facilities battle in their own different way, while others, you battle like you've been battling throughout your Pokemon journey. Right now though, we're aiming at defeating Tower Tycoon Palmer. Are you ready? I sure hope so! Battle 1-20 The good thing about the Battle Tower is that there's no new twist like other Battle Facilities. This is basically like how you've been battling ever since the beginning of the game. All you have to do is beat the trainer. You do that, your Pokemon are healed, and you're moved on to the next trainer. Keep in mind though, that the trainers get stronger as you beat them, which makes the three Pokemon you choose very important. Make sure these three Pokemon are carefully chosen and can cover most if not all types with their moves. Once you are finished beating these twenty trainers, you get the honor of battling Battle Tycoon Palmer to earn your Silver Print: During your first battle against him, when trying to get your Silver Print he says before the battle "Hi! My name's Palmer. I remember you from when you were in Twin Leaf . You were always playing with my son , right? You’ve grown up since then, and most impressively, too! So, I'd like you to show me. Show me the bond you’ve built with your Pokémon. Show me the skill you've acquired as a Trainer!" These are Palmer's Pokémon the first time you battle him: Milotic Lvl 50 Item: Shell Bell Ability: Marvel Scale Moves: Ice Beam Surf Hypnosis Attract EV Spread: HP/Special Attack I would have to say this is Palmer's most annoying out of the three. If he Attracts you it can get pretty annoying. Just when you think you've gotten out of Attract and scored a hit, BAM! You'll probably get hit by Hypnosis. You could try stalling Milotic out, or you can have Hypnosis work to your advantage with moves like Sleep Talk and such. Rhyperior Lvl 50 Item: Focus Band Ability: Solid Rock Moves: Crunch Roar Earthquake Rock Wrecker EV Spread: Attack/Defense Rhyperior is definitely a hard hitter, as well as a bulky guy. His 4x Weak to Water and Grass attacks shouldn't keep him up too long though. Watch out for Roar and his STAB moves, those can get pretty nasty. Dragonite Lvl 50 Item: Lum Berry Ability: Inner Focus Moves: Dragon Claw Thunder Wave Aerial Ace Dragon Dance EV Spread: Attack/Speed Thunder Wave and Dragon Dance are you biggest threat here. With Thunder Wave, he doesn't also greatly reduce your speed, but then you have the chance of being unable to attack, which COULD give Dragonite the opportunity to Dragon Dance or slam you with attacks (assuming the AI is smart). But other than that, if you can OHKO Dragonite with an Ice Beam, he shouldn't be much of a challenge. Honestly, Vaporeon is the ONLY Pokémon you'll probably use against him. Both Rhyperior and Dragonite fall easily to Vaporeon. With Rhyperior, a Surf should be able to OHKO him, unless a miracle happens and his Focus Band activates. But, even then, you can still KO the turn after, and Wish to restore health. With Dragonite, even if he uses Thunder Wave on his first turn, Ice Beam will surely OHKO him. Milotic might give you a little more trouble. But, it can definitely still be pulled off with only Vaporeon. Now Milotic does have the Marvel Scale which raises Defense if burned, paralyzed or poisoned. With Vaporeon, you don't need to worry about that. Use Toxic against Milotic first turn. Ice Beam wont do much damage against you, and with Surf, Vaporeon will just absorb it. Hypnosis and Attract might be annoying, but Milotic shouldn't be able to KO Vaporeon. If Milotic DOES happen to KO you, just finish it off with your next Pokémon After the battle he says: "Losing to an outstanding Trainer like you... I can live with that." "Bravo! One day, I imagine my son will come challenge me just as you have. That’s something I look forward to a great deal. You will become even more skilled the very same way your father did. Keep battling Trainers from around the world and keep growing greater in stature!". Tower Tycoon Palmer then rewards you with the Silver Print. Congrats! Now of course, you plan on getting the Gold Print right? You do plan on getting ALL the Gold Prints, right? ....Right? .....RIGHT?!? WELL YOU'RE GETTING THEM ANYWAYS!!! *Ahem* Battle 22-48 Anyways, in order to battle Tower Tycoon Palmer again, you have to go through 26 more trainers this time. They are harder than the first 20 you faced. So building your team of three by keeping Natures; IV's, EV's and movesets in mind really help you out. Again, make sure you can cover all types. After getting through all those trainers, you get the honor of challenging Tower Tycoon Palmer AGAIN to a battle, this time with the Gold Print as your reward. Can you do it? OF COURSE YOU CAN! Trust me though, this time, he's gotten much harder, I think. He talks to you before the match this time saying: "So, you've come this so far! As the Tower Tycoon, I'll have to give you my best effort. That's how the best Trainers show respect to each other. By Battling all out as dedicated students of Pokémon!" Engage him in battle and get ready to beat his ass. Regigigas Lvl 50 Item: Chople Berry/Brightpowder* Ability: Slow Start Moves: Stone Edge Earthquake Crush Grip Drain Punch EV Spread: HP/Attack Do NOT let his moveset or him scare you. For the first 5 turns, this guy is a sitting duck, seriously. He still might be able to dish out attacks on you, but because of Slow Start, this guy's speed and Attack are reduced for the first five turns. Make sure you TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT. Keep in mind though, that the Chople Berry reduces damage taken from Fighting Type moves. *Bulbapedia lists Regigigas with the Chople Berry, while Smogon lists Regigigas with Brightpowder Heatran Lvl 50 Item: Focus Sash Ability: Flash Fire Moves: Magma Storm Earth Power Flash Cannon Explosion EV Spread: Attack/Special Attack Watch out for Magma Storm and Explosion. Magma Storm is an insanely powerful Fire Type move. It's a little less powerful than Overheat, but Magma Storm does not decrease in power. It does have low accuracy though (70 to be exact). Explosion is a REAL nasty move Heatran has access to, make sure you watch out for that. Assuming you don't OHKO Heatran, he cant Explode on you. And, assuming you DID OHKO Heatran (But he hung on his Focus Sash) he can still Explode on you. Cresselia Lvl 50 Item: Leftovers Ability: Levitate Moves: Psychic Ice Beam Signal Beam Moonlight EV Spread: HP/Defense/Special Defense This is Tower Tycoon Palmer's Pokémon most annoying and probably most dangerous Pokémon It can take hits, it can smack you with attacks, AND it can heal....BUT DO I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU! For both Regigigas and Heatran, you can only use one Pokémon, assuming Heatran doesn't knock you out. Assuming he doesn't however, Machamp is a great choice here. Make sure he has the No Guts ability and make sure he has Dynamic Punch. For either of the two Pokémon, use this attack on them. Since Machamp has the No Guts ability, Dynamic Punch will pretty much always land on the opponent, and in turn, pretty much always confuse them. Regigias will most likely fall to Machamp on his first or second attack. With Heatran, you'd want to attack with Dynamic Punch, have him hang on his Focus Sash, get confused, and hope he hits himself with confusion. If that's not the case, you can either KO him on your second turn, or Machamp is getting KO'd. For Cresselia however, its a different story. You remember how I said that Cresselia can be a nasty Pokémon? Well not anymore >:) I think I have a strategy that can take care of Cresselia. First of all, you'd want either an Azelf, Uxie, or Mesprit. Then after that, make sure any of them know Psychic, Ice Beam, and Signal Beam. MAKE SURE THEY KNOW THOSE THREE MOVES. After that, make sure any of the three know IMPRISION. This is vital, they need to know IMPRISION. Do you see where I am going at? No? Well then my good man, let me explain! Cresselia has four moves, right? Those are Psychic, Ice Beam, Signal Beam, and Moonlight. Now, I told you to put Psychic, Ice Beam, and Signal Beam on either Uxie, Azelf, or Mesprit, right? So now, you have three moves that Cresselia has. Only move you don't have is Moonlight. This is where Imprison comes in. During your battle. Use Imprison on your first turn. That way, Cresselia cant use any moves EXCEPT Moonlight! Moonlight is only limited to 5 uses. So once those are gone, you wreak havoc with Signal Beam and other attacks. Genius, I tell ya. GENIUS!!! WAHAHA!!! *Ahem* So once you beat him, he basically says the same thing: "Losing to an outstanding Trainer like you... I can live with that." "Bravo! I feel inspired in my heart! It brings back a memory of that day long ago... I went out to the lake with your father that day... We were attacked by a wild Pokémon. We fended it off, but I don't recall how. It was that desperate. That was my first step as a Trainer. I wonder if the professor is doing well? ...That's enough reminiscing. My young friend, the world and your future hold infinite promise. Go on, you can be all that you desire! There is no limit to where you can go!". After that, Tower Tycoon Palmer rewards you with your Gold Print! Congratulations, you have just beat the Battle Tower, and Tower Tycoon Palmer! TWICE! Information gotten from Bulbpedia and Smogon.
